Summary of studies, not a recommendation

Consider Orforglipron if…

  • you want an FDA-approved oral option: Foundayo (orforglipron) is labelled, with diet and activity, to reduce excess body weight in adults with obesity or with overweight plus a weight-related condition[6]
  • you want an oral option with randomized weight-loss data: Body weight changed by -7.5% (6 mg), -8.4% (12 mg) and -11.2% (36 mg) with orforglipron vs -2.1% with placebo at week 72.[16]

Consider Tirzepatide if…

  • you want an FDA-approved product: Zepbound (tirzepatide) is labelled, with diet and activity, for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or with overweight plus a weight-related condition[15]
  • you want large randomized weight-loss data (the SURMOUNT program): Mean weight change at week 72 was -15.0% (5 mg), -19.5% (10 mg) and -20.9% (15 mg) with tirzepatide versus -3.1% with placebo.[17]
