Evidence for energy
None of the study abstracts we summarised for Melanotan II reported an outcome for energy (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026). Claims that it helps with energy are unproven.
How strong is it?
A human randomized trial outweighs any number of animal studies. Animal and cell results show a mechanism worth testing, not that it works in people.
MedlinePlus background on fatigue
MedlinePlus defines fatigue as a feeling of weariness, tiredness, or lack of energy, which is the baseline for reading the melanotan II studies below.[5]
What the melanotan II research on fatigue actually reports
A PubMed title-and-abstract search pairing melanotan II terms with energy and fatigue terms, run on 29 Oct 2026, matched 3 records; the count measures how much has been written, not what it found.
Calculated from pubmed query ("melanotan II"[tiab] OR "melanotan 2"[tiab]) AND (fatigue[tiab] OR tiredness[tiab] OR vitality[tiab] OR "energy level"[tiab] OR "energy levels"[tiab] OR "exercise capacity"[tiab] OR "physical performance"[tiab] OR "exercise performance"[tiab] OR endurance[tiab]); date 2026-10-29; record count 3. Formula: number of PubMed records matching the query on the date shown, as recorded by the ledger run in research/keywords/expansion-2026-10/build/ledger-results.json
In a small pilot phase I study of melanotan II in healthy men, the 0.03 mg/kg dose produced Grade II somnolence and fatigue in one of two subjects, so fatigue appeared as a side effect.[6]
In rats, melanotan II injected into a brain region called the paraventricular nucleus raised spontaneous physical activity in a dose-dependent way, more so in naturally high-activity animals.[7]
Limits to keep in mind for melanotan II and fatigue
The same pilot reported mild nausea at most dose levels, among a handful of volunteers.[6]

Does Melanotan II help with energy?
None of the studies we summarised for Melanotan II (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026) measured an outcome for energy. Treat claims that it helps with energy as unproven.
Is Melanotan II approved for energy?
No. Melanotan II is not FDA approved for any use, including energy.
What is the best peptide for energy?
There is no single answer. Our energy overview compares each candidate by evidence grade and legal status rather than by popularity.
How does MedlinePlus describe fatigue?
The National Library of Medicine's MedlinePlus gives this plain-language description of energy and fatigue, the condition behind the melanotan II question.[5]
Is there published research on melanotan II and fatigue?
A PubMed search on 29 Oct 2026 pairing melanotan II terms with energy and fatigue terms matched 3 records, which says research exists in the literature and not that melanotan II has any effect on energy and fatigue.
