AOD-9604 Results: What Studies Measured and When
What published studies measured for AOD-9604, when those outcomes were measured, and what is still unproven.
What studies measured
Each outcome below comes from a published study, with its type and size, strongest design first. Animal and cell results are labelled as such and are not human results.
| Outcome | Result | Study type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cartilage regeneration | In rabbits, intra-articular AOD9604 enhanced cartilage regeneration; AOD9604 plus hyaluronic acid worked better than either alone. | Animal · rabbit (not a human result)n = 32 | Annals of clinical and laboratory science 2015, PMID 26275694 |
| Body weight gain and fat oxidation | Both hGH and AOD reduced weight gain in obese mice, with higher fat oxidation and plasma glycerol. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | International journal of obesity and related metabolic disorders 2001, PMID 11673763 |
| Glucose effects | AOD9604 did not cause hyperglycaemia or reduce insulin secretion, unlike hGH. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | International journal of obesity and related metabolic disorders 2001, PMID 11673763 |
| Body weight and fat | Both reduced body weight and body fat in obese mice over 14 days. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | Endocrinology 2001, PMID 11713213 |
| Knock-out mice | In beta(3)-AR knock-out mice long-term treatment did not change body weight as in wild-type. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | Endocrinology 2001, PMID 11713213 |
| Body weight gain | Oral AOD9604 for 19 days cut body weight gain by over 50% (15.8 g vs 35.6 g control) in obese Zucker rats. | Animal · rat (not a human result) | Hormone research 2000, PMID 11146367 |
| Insulin sensitivity | No adverse effect on insulin sensitivity, unlike intact hGH. | Animal · rat (not a human result) | Hormone research 2000, PMID 11146367 |
- No human trial of AOD-9604 has been published in PubMed as of 2 October 2026. A 2004 drug profile states only that "By February 2002, phase IIa trials were underway" (PMID 15134286); results of the human obesity trials are not available in PubMed with abstracts.
- All efficacy evidence selected is from rats, mice and rabbits. The weight-loss goal therefore has animal evidence only; do not read these results as human outcomes.
- AOD-9604 is not FDA approved.
- No pharmacokinetic or stability study with numerical results was found.
Typical timeline
When measurable changes appeared in studies of AOD-9604: not reported in study abstracts (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026).
Before-and-after photos
We don't publish before-and-after photos. They can't be verified, rarely show dose, diet or other drugs, and only the most dramatic results get posted.
Common questions
How long does AOD-9604 take to work?
The study abstracts we summarised for AOD-9604 do not report when outcomes were measured (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026).
Do you show AOD-9604 before and after photos?
No. Photos can't be verified, rarely show dose, diet or other drugs, and only the most dramatic ones get posted. We summarize measured outcomes instead.
