20 units (0.2 mL) on a 1 mL U-100 syringe: 1 mg from a 10 mg vial + 2 mL water (Tesamorelin).
Dosing table for a 10 mg vial
Syringe units (U-100) for each dose, by how much bacteriostatic water you add.
| Dose | 1 mL water | 2 mL water | 2.5 mL water | 3 mL water |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.5 mg | 5 | 10 | 12.5 | 15 |
| 1 mg | 10 | 20 | 25 | 30 |
| 1.5 mg | 15 | 30 | 37.5 | 45 |
| 2 mg | 20 | 40 | 50 | 60 |
| 2.5 mg | 25 | 50 | 62.5 | 75 |
| 3 mg | 30 | 60 | 75 | 90 |
How the math works
Concentration is the vial's milligrams divided by the water you add. Volume to draw is your dose divided by that concentration. On a U-100 syringe, 1 mL is 100 units, so units = mL × 100.
1 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.2 mL
0.2 mL × 100 = 20 units
How many units is 1 mg of Tesamorelin?
With a 10 mg vial and 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, 1 mg is 20 units (0.20 mL) on a U-100 syringe. With 1 mL of water it is 10 units. The answer always depends on how much water was added.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg Tesamorelin vial?
The water only sets the concentration; the amount of Tesamorelin in the vial stays the same. 2 mL makes 5 mg/mL, so 1 mg is 20 units. 2.5 mL makes 4 mg/mL, so the same 1 mg is 25 units. More water makes small doses easier to measure but needs more volume per injection.
How many 1 mg doses are in a 10 mg vial?
10 ÷ 1 = 10, so 10 full doses of 1 mg. Any liquid lost in the needle and vial is not counted.
Preset doses are round numbers for the arithmetic, not dosing guidance. Vial sizes are the ones most often mentioned for Tesamorelin in community discussions.
