CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin half-life
A half-life depends on the route (under the skin, into a vein, by mouth or nasal spray) and the species it was measured in, so we report each value with its route and source. These are values for each ingredient of CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin; none was measured for the blend.
| Route | Half-life | Measured in | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ipamorelin: intravenous infusion (15 min) | 2 hours terminal half-life | People | Pharmaceutical research 1999, PMID 10496658 |
Other pharmacokinetic findings (these are not half-life values):
| Route | Half-life | Measured in | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| CJC-1295: subcutaneous | 5.8-8.1 d (estimated half-life) | People | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16352683 |
| CJC-1295: injection (route not stated) | 8 d (stated as half-life in the abstract background) | People | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 17018654 |
| CJC-1295: subcutaneous | present in plasma beyond 72 h (no half-life value given) | Animal · rat | Endocrinology 2005, PMID 15817669 |
| Ipamorelin: intranasal | bioavailability approximately 20% (no half-life reported) | Animal · rat | Xenobiotica; the fate of foreign compounds in biological systems 1998, PMID 9879640 |
What half-life means
Half-life is the time it takes for the amount of a drug in the blood to fall by half. After one half-life, about 50% is left; after two, about 25%; after four to five, only a few percent remain.
- A long half-life lets a drug be dosed less often, for example once a week.
- A short half-life means levels rise and fall quickly, which is why some peptides are given daily or more often.
- Effects can outlast blood levels, so half-life alone does not tell you how long a drug works.
What it means for dosing frequency
Dosing intervals used in published studies of CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin:
- Ipamorelin: twice daily, intravenous infusion (Human RCT; International journal of colorectal disease 2014, PMID 25331030)
- CJC-1295: single, weekly or biweekly, subcutaneous (Human RCT; The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16352683)
- Ipamorelin: single, intravenous infusion over 15 minutes (Human RCT; Pharmaceutical research 1999, PMID 10496658)
- CJC-1295: single, injection (route not stated in abstract) (Human uncontrolled trial; The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 17018654)
Changing the interval changes how much drug builds up between doses, so it is not a free choice.
Drug tests and sport
Prohibited by WADA (S2.2.4)Both components are named in S2.2.4 (CJC-1295 as a GHRH analogue, ipamorelin as a secretagogue), so the blend is prohibited at all times.
Detection findings from anti-doping analytical studies:
- After nasal dosing, ipamorelin metabolites were still found in urine after the parent drug was gone (samples were collected for 2 days). · PMID 25869809
Tested athletes should treat it as prohibited (s2.2.4) at all times.
How long the CJC-1295 half of the blend lasts in the body
In healthy adults given CJC-1295 subcutaneously, the estimated half-life of the CJC-1295 component was 5.8 to 8.1 days.[4]
A later study of overnight GH sampling in men describes CJC-1295 as binding permanently to albumin after injection, with a half-life of 8 days.[5]
After a single CJC-1295 injection, mean plasma GH rose 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-I rose 1.5- to 3-fold for 9 to 11 days.[4]
After repeated CJC-1295 doses, mean IGF-I stayed above baseline for up to 28 days.[4]
In rats, CJC-1295 was still found in plasma beyond 72 hours, which is animal data and not a human half-life.[6]
How long the ipamorelin half of the blend lasts
In eight healthy men per dose level, the terminal half-life of ipamorelin was about 2 hours.[3]
Ipamorelin produced one episode of GH release that peaked at 0.67 hours and then declined to negligible levels.[3]
In male rats, ipamorelin applied intranasally had an estimated bioavailability of about 20%; no such figure is cached for people.[7]
What no study has measured for the pair
Taking the quoted figures at face value, the CJC-1295 half-life of 8 days is 192 hours against 2 hours for ipamorelin, a 96-fold difference between the two components.
Calculated from cjc1295 half life days 8; ipamorelin half life hours 2; hours per day 24. Formula: 8 x 24 = 192 hours; 192 / 2 = 96
The cached combinations file records a PubMed search of 2 Oct 2026 that paired CJC-1295 with ipamorelin; it returned 10 records and lists no study of the two given together, so no half-life for the blend exists in the sources.
Calculated from query ("CJC-1295"[tiab] OR CJC1295[tiab]) AND (ipamorelin[tiab]); date 2026-10-02; records 10; studies listed as testing the combination 0. Formula: studies of the pair = 0 (combinations.json, cjc-1295__ipamorelin)
Detection and the prohibited list
The cached WADA prohibited list names CJC-1295 among the GHRH analogues, and the same list names ipamorelin as a growth hormone secretagogue.[1]
