How much water to add

Bacteriostatic water only changes the concentration, not the amount of CJC-1295 in the vial. More water means more units per dose (easier to read), less water means fewer.

How the math works

Concentration is the vial's milligrams divided by the water you add. Volume to draw is your dose divided by that concentration. On a U-100 syringe, 1 mL is 100 units, so units = mL × 100.

2 mg ÷ 2 mL = 1 mg/mL
300 mcg = 0.3 mg; 0.3 mg ÷ 1 mg/mL = 0.3 mL
0.3 mL × 100 = 30 units
30 units · 0.3 mL · 300 mcg from 2 mg + 2 mL
Math only. The amounts in these tables are reference values for the arithmetic, not dose recommendations.

What the CJC-1295 papers dosed, against a 2 mg vial

In GHRH-knockout mice, once-daily CJC-1295 produced normal body weight and length, while the animals treated every 48 and 72 hours reached higher weight and length than placebo without full normalisation.[3]

The healthy-adult trials gave CJC-1295 under the skin as ascending single doses, then as weekly or biweekly doses.[4]

The authors of the healthy-adult trials described CJC-1295 as relatively well tolerated, particularly at weight-based doses of 30 or 60 microg/kg.[4]

In healthy men, the two CJC-1295 doses tested in the pulsatility study gave responses that did not differ significantly.[5]

What a 2 mg CJC-1295 vial holds

2 mg of CJC-1295 in 1, 2 or 3 mL of water gives 2 / 1 / 0.67 mg/mL, which is 20 / 10 / 6.7 mcg per syringe unit.

Calculated from vial mg 2; water mL 1, 2, 3; units per mL 100. Formula: mg/mL = vialMg / waterMl; mcg per unit = mg/mL / 100 x 1000

CJC-1295 with and without DAC

A narrative review lists CJC-1295 with a Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) and CJC-1295 without DAC as separate growth hormone-releasing hormone analogues met in online self-administration.[6]

Is 2 mg a labelled CJC-1295 strength

The openFDA Drugs@FDA lookup for CJC-1295 returned no application.[7]

With 0 matching applications in Drugs@FDA there is no labelled strength to compare a 2 mg CJC-1295 vial with.

Calculated from vial mg 2; drugs fda matches 0; source s2-legal/api.fda.gov/drugsfda-cjc-1295.txt. Formula: labelled strengths available = 0

Common questions

How much water goes in a 2 mg vial of CJC-1295?

That choice only changes the concentration. With 2 mL, a 2 mg vial is 1 mg/mL; with 1 mL it is 2 mg/mL. Less water means fewer units per dose and harder-to-read marks for small doses.

How many units is 100 mcg from a 2 mg vial?

With 2 mL of water, 100 mcg is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. With other water amounts, see the table.

How many doses are in a 2 mg vial?

Divide the vial size by the dose (in the same unit). The calculator on this page shows the number of whole doses for any dose you pick.

How does water volume change the strength of a 2 mg CJC-1295 vial?

The water only sets the strength: 2 mg of CJC-1295 in 1, 2 or 3 mL is 2, 1 or 0.67 mg/mL.

Calculated from vial mg 2; water mL 1, 2, 3. Formula: mg/mL = vialMg / waterMl

Is there a studied amount to compare a 2 mg CJC-1295 vial with?

The healthy-adult trials quoted here used weight-based amounts, with 30 or 60 microg/kg named as particularly well tolerated, so no fixed human amount is available to compare with this vial.[4]
