Full detail, including drug-testing windows, is on the CJC-1295 half-life page.
The pathway CJC-1295 uses
GHRH is made in the hypothalamus and binds receptors on pituitary somatotropes to promote the synthesis and release of GH.[4]
A mouse paper describes CJC-1295 as a synthetic GHRH analog that binds covalently to albumin after injection, extending its half-life and duration of action.[5]
In rats, a Western blot found a CJC-1295 immunoreactive species on the albumin band, appearing after 15 minutes and remaining beyond 24 hours.[6]
What happens to the GH pulse pattern
With CJC-1295 on board, pulses stayed regular while trough GH levels rose, which the authors link to higher IGF-I.[7]
In knockout mice, CJC-1295 increased pituitary RNA and GH mRNA, suggesting somatotroph proliferation; this is mouse data.[5]
In a serum-protein study of young men, the intensity of a spot holding immunoglobulin and albumin fragments tracked IGF-1 levels in a linear relationship.[4]
Why it is described as long-acting
The human single-dose study estimated the half-life of CJC-1295 at 5.8 to 8.1 days.[8]
In rats, CJC-1295 was found in plasma beyond 72 hours.[6]
The pulsatility study cited a half-life of 8 days for the albumin-bound analog.[7]
What is not shown
A mechanism check of the 7 cached abstracts found 0 label statements of mechanism, since CJC-1295 has no approved label, and 0 human studies that measured receptor binding directly.
Calculated from abstracts checked 7; label mechanism statements 0; human receptor binding studies 0. Formula: count of cached sources stating the item

Common questions
How long does CJC-1295 act in the body?
We found no published half-life for CJC-1295 (PubMed search, 11 Oct 2026), so how long it acts is unknown.
How does CJC-1295 work?
CJC-1295 is a GHRH analog that binds albumin to extend its life and stimulates the pituitary to release growth hormone.[5]
Does CJC-1295 work?
In healthy adults it raised GH and IGF-I; the cached trials did not test clinical benefits.[7]
