CJC-1295 Results: What Studies Measured and When
What published studies measured for CJC-1295, when those outcomes were measured, and what is still unproven.
What studies measured
Each outcome below comes from a published study, with its type and size, strongest design first. Animal and cell results are labelled as such and are not human results.
| Outcome | Result | Study type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| GH and IGF-I | A single injection raised mean plasma GH 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and mean IGF-I 1.5- to 3-fold for 9-11 days, dose-dependently. | Human RCT | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16352683 |
| Repeat dosing | After multiple doses, mean IGF-I stayed above baseline for up to 28 days. | Human RCT | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16352683 |
| Reasons for use reported on forums | Forum users cited weight loss, muscle enhancement, youthful skin, improved sleep and injury healing as reasons for use; these are user-stated motives, not measured results. | Human observational | Substance use & misuse 2016, PMID 26771670 |
| Serum protein changes | CJC analog injection changed the intensity of five serum protein spots; these are candidate biomarkers of GH/IGF-1 action, not clinical outcomes. | Human uncontrolled trialn = 11 | Growth hormone & IGF research 2009, PMID 19386527 |
| GH secretion pattern | Trough GH rose 7.5-fold, mean GH 46% and IGF-I 45% one week after a single injection, with GH pulsatility preserved. | Human uncontrolled trial | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 17018654 |
| GH pulses | Frequency and magnitude of GH pulses were unchanged. | Human uncontrolled trial | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 17018654 |
| Regulatory status and evidence for physique claims | The review notes no regulatory approval for physique- or performance-related indications of these peptides, including this long-acting GHRH analog. | Review | Frontiers in endocrinology 2026, PMID 42395176 |
| Growth and body composition | Once-daily CJC-1295 maintained normal growth and body composition in GHRH knockout mice. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | American journal of physiology. Endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16822960 |
| Dosing interval | The same dose was less effective given every 48 or 72 h. | Animal · mouse (not a human result) | American journal of physiology. Endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16822960 |
| GH release | CJC-1295 produced a 4-fold larger 2-h GH area under the curve than hGRF(1-29) in rats. | Animal · rat (not a human result) | Endocrinology 2005, PMID 15817669 |
- Human data: two randomized placebo-controlled dose-escalation trials in healthy adults (16352683, which reports pharmacokinetics and safety), one uncontrolled study of GH pulsatility in 20-40 year old men (17018654) and a proteomic study in 11 men (19386527). All used the albumin-binding (DAC) form; CJC-1295 without DAC (sometimes sold as modified GRF 1-29) is not covered by this literature.
- All human studies are in healthy adults and measured GH and IGF-I, not weight, muscle, sleep or energy outcomes. No human study measuring weight loss, muscle growth, sleep, energy or bodybuilding outcomes was found in PubMed as of 2 October 2026. Women over 50 and men over 50 have no age-specific data (participants were 21-61).
- The sleep and weight-loss goals have no efficacy evidence; one study (26771670) only records why forum users say they use the peptide.
- CJC-1295 is not an approved drug and there is no FDA label. No stability data were found.
Typical timeline
When the studies above measured their outcomes. This is the study schedule, not a promise of when anyone will notice a change.
| When | What was measured | Study type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 d or more (GH); 9-11 d (IGF-I) | Duration of GH and IGF-I elevation after one injection | Human RCT | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 16352683 |
| 1 wk after injection | GH pulsatility and IGF-I | Human uncontrolled trial | The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism 2006, PMID 17018654 |

Common questions
How long does CJC-1295 take to work?
The studies we summarise measured outcomes at set points, for example Duration of GH and IGF-I elevation after one injection at 6 d or more (GH); 9-11 d (IGF-I); GH pulsatility and IGF-I at 1 wk after injection. Timelines outside studies vary.
Do you show CJC-1295 before and after photos?
No. Photos can't be verified, rarely show dose, diet or other drugs, and only the most dramatic ones get posted. We summarize measured outcomes instead.
