A review of growth hormone, prolactin and sexuality states that the physiological role of GH in sexual function is not fully elucidated.[12]

The review reports lower desire and arousability in people with GH deficiency and with GH excess (acromegaly), and says it is unclear whether the hormone itself or the surrounding illness is responsible.[12]
