Evidence for skin

Each row is an outcome related to skin from a published study, strongest design first. Animal and cell results are labelled and are not human results. User reports are not counted as evidence here. No study has tested GLOW itself; rows are for each ingredient.

How strong is it?

Strongest evidence:Human RCT evidence, 4 of 4TB-500: Microbial biotechnology 2021, PMID 34318587

A human randomized trial outweighs any number of animal studies. Animal and cell results show a mechanism worth testing, not that it works in people.

What skin aging looks like

MedlinePlus says skin changes with age, with wrinkles, age spots and dryness, and that it can take longer to heal.[14]

Skin findings in people, by component

After CO2 laser resurfacing, GHK-Cu skin care gave no significant reduction in erythema and no objective improvement in wrinkles, though patient satisfaction was higher.[3]

A single 59-year-old man treated weekly for 12 weeks with a cosmetic mix containing copper-GHK and microneedling showed less wrinkling and more collagen in biopsies in a single patient given a mixed product.[5]

A review of topical GHK as an anti-wrinkle peptide notes a surprising absence of clinical studies of the products that contain it.[7]

A systematic review of microneedle GHK-Cu concludes that well-designed human trials are still needed to translate strong cellular and animal data into clinical practice.[6]

Skin findings in animals and cells

In mice with scald burns, angiogenesis in skin treated with GHK-Cu liposomes was better than with free GHK-Cu (animal study).[9]

Copper tripeptide lowered TGF-beta1 secretion by keloid-producing fibroblasts at 24 hours in cell culture (cell study).[13]

Common questions

Does GLOW help with skin?

The strongest study we summarise for skin is human rct evidence, for an ingredient rather than the blend, across 13 studies with an outcome for skin. A trial result is not an approval; see the legal status.

Is GLOW approved for skin?

No. GLOW is not FDA approved for any use, including skin.

What is the best peptide for skin?

There is no single answer. Our skin overview compares each candidate by evidence grade and legal status rather than by popularity.

Is GLOW peptide good for skin?

Evidence exists for a GHK-Cu component on skin, but it is mixed: one laser-resurfacing trial found no objective wrinkle improvement, and no trial tests the blend.

Calculated from human outcomes 7; animal outcomes 9; blend studies 0. Formula: cached skin outcomes = 16; blend studies = 0

Can GLOW peptide help loose skin?

The cached sources do not study loose skin after weight change, so no answer is given.

Calculated from terms loose skin; mentions 0. Formula: mentions of loose skin in cached skin sources = 0
