How long it acts
No published half-life found for Survodutide (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026)
Two receptors, one peptide
The SYNCHRONIZE-MASLD report calls survodutide a glucagon receptor and GLP-1 receptor dual agonist under investigation for obesity and related diseases.[5]
The MASH trial authors reasoned that dual agonism might outperform GLP-1 receptor agonism alone in MASH.[6]
What dual agonism looked like in people
Pooled across trials, survodutide lowered fasting glucagon by 7 pmol/L as well as HbA1c.[7]
In people with cirrhosis, liver fat content, liver stiffness and body weight were generally reduced after 28 weeks.[8]
In the MASLD phase 3 trial, 84.2% of survodutide recipients reached a liver-fat fall of 30% or more, against 24.3% on placebo (efficacy estimand).[5]
Weekly injections and slow escalation
The obesity phase 2 trial gave weekly injections with 20 weeks of dose escalation, then 26 weeks of dose maintenance.[9]
The diabetes phase 2 authors said the gut side effects could be eased with slower dose escalation.[10]
The pharmacokinetic study in cirrhosis found similar exposure (AUC and Cmax) to healthy people after a single dose.[8]
What the cached papers do not give
A 2 Oct 2026 PubMed search for survodutide with half-life or pharmacokinetic terms returned 3 papers, and the cirrhosis phase 1 abstract reports exposure ratios but no half-life figure, so how long one dose acts is not stated in the cached abstracts.
Calculated from query (survodutide[tiab] OR BI456906[tiab]) AND (half-life[tiab] OR pharmacokinetic*[tiab]); date 2026-10-02; count 3. Formula: count taken from the evidence file's search record
Common questions
How long does Survodutide act in the body?
We found no published half-life for Survodutide (PubMed search, 2 Oct 2026), so how long it acts is unknown.
What is the survodutide mechanism of action?
It acts as a dual agonist at the glucagon receptor and the GLP-1 receptor.[5]
