How much water to add

Bacteriostatic water only changes the concentration, not the amount of Kisspeptin-10 in the vial. More water means more units per dose (easier to read), less water means fewer.

How the math works

Concentration is the vial's milligrams divided by the water you add. Volume to draw is your dose divided by that concentration. On a U-100 syringe, 1 mL is 100 units, so units = mL × 100.

10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL
500 mcg = 0.5 mg; 0.5 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.1 mL
0.1 mL × 100 = 10 units
10 units · 0.1 mL · 500 mcg from 10 mg + 2 mL
Math only. The amounts in these tables are reference values for the arithmetic, not dose recommendations.

Amounts used in kisspeptin studies against a 10 mg vial

The 12-day chronic study in men used a fixed hourly rate, 150 nmol/h for 8 hours daily, and 180 nmol/h for the 5-day continuous arm; these are absolute rates in nanomoles and not converted to milligrams here.[3]

The comparison of men and women gave boluses in nmol/kg, with LH elevated in men at doses as low as 0.3 nmol/kg.[4]

A 10 mg kisspeptin vial in 1, 2 or 3 mL of water gives 10, 5 or 3.333 mg/mL, so one U-100 unit (0.01 mL) holds 0.1, 0.05 or 0.033 mg.

Calculated from vial mg 10; water mL 1, 2, 3; units per mL 100. Formula: mg/mL = vialMg / waterMl; mg per unit = (mg/mL) / 100

At 2 mL a 10 mg vial is 5 mg/mL, so each unit holds 0.05 mg; any reading under about 5 units (0.25 mg) is hard to measure accurately.

Calculated from vial mg 10; water mL 2; units 5; units per mL 100. Formula: mg = (vialMg / waterMl) x units / 100

The Drugs@FDA lookup by active ingredient kisspeptin returned no matches, so no labelled product has this strength.[5]

Common questions

How much water goes in a 10 mg vial of Kisspeptin-10?

That choice only changes the concentration. With 2 mL, a 10 mg vial is 5 mg/mL; with 1 mL it is 10 mg/mL. Less water means fewer units per dose and harder-to-read marks for small doses.

How many units is 100 mcg from a 10 mg vial?

With 2 mL of water, 100 mcg is 2 units on a U-100 syringe. With other water amounts, see the table.

How many doses are in a 10 mg vial?

Divide the vial size by the dose (in the same unit). The calculator on this page shows the number of whole doses for any dose you pick.

How much water for a 10 mg kisspeptin vial?

Mixed with 1, 2 or 3 mL, a 10 mg kisspeptin vial is 10, 5 or 3.333 mg/mL; one U-100 unit then holds 0.1, 0.05 or 0.0333 mg.

Calculated from vial mg 10; water mL 1, 2, 3; units per mL 100. Formula: mg/mL = 10 / mL; mg per unit = (mg/mL) / 100
