The testosterone claim: hormone rises in healthy men, tested with infusions
In healthy men, subcutaneous kisspeptin-10 infusions dose-dependently raised LH, FSH and testosterone against vehicle.[1]
After 5 days of continuous infusion the gonadotropin effect had faded, even though testosterone stayed elevated.[1]
An earlier study in men reported that boluses of kisspeptin-10 evoke LH secretion and that continuous infusion raised testosterone.[6]
The libido and mood claim: brain imaging, not symptom scores
In healthy men, kisspeptin versus vehicle enhanced limbic brain activity to sexual and couple-bonding images and lowered negative mood.[5]
In premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder, a kisspeptin-54 infusion changed brain responses to erotic and face stimuli, and was reported well tolerated.[3]
The women's trial reports the result as laying a foundation for clinical applications, not as a proven improvement in desire.[3]
Liver, bone and fertility claims
The liver claim comes from young male rats given kisspeptin-10, where the authors say it may have antioxidant effects on liver tissue.[15]
In healthy men, kisspeptin raised the bone-formation marker osteocalcin, with a maximal increase of 20.3%.[4]
In women undergoing IVF, a single kisspeptin-54 injection induced egg maturation, a fertility use rather than a general wellness benefit.[10]
A PubMed search on 2 Oct 2026 for kisspeptin with liver, NAFLD or hepatic words returned 68 records; the only liver study cached here is the rat experiment.

Common questions
Is Kisspeptin-10 proven to work?
The strongest study we summarise for Kisspeptin-10 is human rct evidence, among 18 studies. A trial result is not an approval; see the legal status.
What does kisspeptin do?
It is described as stimulating gonadotropin-releasing hormone release, which raises LH and FSH.[6]
What is kisspeptin peptide used for?
In the cached human trials it was studied for reproductive hormone release, egg maturation and brain responses, not as an approved treatment.[7]
