In a rat shock-probe test, animals given BPC-157 or diazepam buried the probe far less than controls, which the authors read as less fear; this is a rodent behaviour test.[11]

The authors concluded that BPC-157 and diazepam both showed a bidirectional effect in the rodent tests, and that the activity of BPC-157 was distinct from diazepam.[11]

In rats given ketamine to mimic negative-like symptoms of schizophrenia, BPC 157 is reported to have counteracted several behaviours and to have had an additional anxiolytic effect.[12]
