A review of BPC 157 and the central nervous system reports that, in rats with an induced stroke, the peptide counteracted neuronal damage and disturbed memory, locomotion and coordination.[11]

The same review says gene expression in hippocampal tissue differed in the BPC 157-treated rats; all of the work described is animal research.[11]
