In a rat forced-swimming test, the drop in immobility with BPC 157 was matched by the authors to the effect of imipramine or nialamide; it is a rodent assay and says nothing about depression in people.[11]

In rats under chronic unpredictable stress, immobility fell after both 4 and 6 days of BPC 157.[11]

A review of BPC 157 and the brain-gut axis lists an antidepressant effect among its behavioural findings in animal models.[12]
